Get 2010 Off To A Great Start!

The end of the year is a great time for reflection, reassessment and looking ahead.

• A time to look back on the past year and all of the highs and lows that happened along the journey

• A time to be thankful for your many accomplishments

• A time to look forward to 2010 and plan where life’s journey will take you next.

The document, Review of 2009 and Goals for 2010 will help you identify your key wins over the last year, and set clear goals for the things you want to achieve in the future. Find some quiet time alone where you can focus your attention on you. Going through this process will help you create the life you were meant to live, so you can feel proud of the legacy you leave behind.

This is a living document that should grow and change with you. Review it, evaluating your progress at least once each month to ensure you are on track. Make any necessary adjustments to your strategy to ensure it’s a reflection of what is important to you at any given point in time.

The more time you put into this process, fully completing the Review of 2009 and Goals for 2010, the richer your results will be. Take the time to plan your year; you’ll be glad you did!

Points to Ponder

• How much time did you invest in building relationships with your team? With your patients? With your family?
  
  
• How much time did you spend sending thank-you notes for referrals? 
  
  
• How involved were you with philanthropic ventures last year?
  
  
• Look at yourself. Would you follow you? Are you leading by example?
  
  
• When is the last time you attended a workshop on leadership? Running effective meetings? Performance feedback?
  
  
• Do you motivate your team by fear or through buy-in?
  
  
• Is the culture in your practice one of results or excuses?
  
  
• Are you hitting the fun quota?
